The epic finale to the Inheritance Cycle, Inheritance follows the violent pattern of its three predecessors and includes a many deaths and fights that are gory, graphic, very violent, and sometimes torturous. The general things about its predecessors that people love are existent in this conclusion- it is full of action, exciting, full of suspense, and a very, very large amount of detail. Characters in the book have been developed well enough that in Inheritance, many of the events that occur do not change the reader’s perspective of a character. However, the book is unnecessarily lengthy with huge descriptions regarding the protagonist’s feelings, minor actions, or thoughts. Readers will be frustrated with the amounts of information that they are forced to process. The protagonist also has little notable flaws, his character having been developed to the point of near perfection- this makes it less interesting and makes the entire story less tense, because of the expectation of success. The final conclusion at the end of this book can be considered both satisfying and disappointing- the cliff hanger it leaves, but written with style, can leave lasting, conflicting impressions about the series.
