"From the fires of evil, new heroes shall be forged...Ultraman. Owlman. Superwoman. Invading from a ravaged alternate universe, these ruthless beings have led a Secret Society of our Earth's super-villains to total global domination. Each is a warped mirror image of the heroes they banished to an unbreachable prison. And each has a hidden agenda. That's the Justice League's only hope. While these brutal conquerors battle the demons of their dark pasts, Vic Stone--the all-too-human hero once fused with mind-blowing machinery as the Justice League member called Cyborg--must act. As the only League member to escape the Syndicate, Vic has just one chance to defy the Grid, the sentient computer virus that stole his robotic body and seized control of the world's computer networks. Cyborg must seek out the least likely heroes of all: the Metal Men, the mercurial group of androids whose personalities--and completely off-network operating systems--make them literally impossible to control. Geoff Johns is great here but Ivan Reis is outstanding! His art here reminds me of some of the groundbreaking stuff (literally) he did on Green Lantern: the Sinestro War. Worth the read!

The Justice League title ties into Forever Evil by having most of the team completely off the playing field while the Crime Syndicate runs wild over the planet. It is what it is- the big event DC built to for quite awhile, though this tie-in feels like the sideshow to the main event.
