Lewin was a really smart MIT grad who was born in the US, grew up in Israel, trained with the Israeli army, made a major impact on Internet efficiency, and was killed on a hijacked plane on 9/11.

I picked this book up on a whim and found it mediocre. It really bogged-down for me with the evolution of the internet and too many characters and companies.

Tragic story, fair book.

Excellent read at a popular biography level. I was involved enough in the Internet at the time to have seen the rise of Akamai & its impact on the Internet. The ability of that company to shake off the knowledge that they'd lost their founding heart, but turn their efforts that same 9/11 day to using the technology to enable the Internet to handle the traffic surge caused by 9/11, is a tribute to his spirited vision and leadership. I wish I'd known him.
