Includes letters (1778-81) to Adams' wife, Elizabeth Wells Adams, on family matters. Correspondents include John Adams, John Burgoyne, Christopher Gadsden, Horatio Gates, Elbridge Gerry, Nathanael Greene, Thomas Jefferson, Arthur Lee, Richard Henry Lee, Thomas Paine, and James Warren.
