This is the first book that I have read by this author. I liked it very much. Vampires live in Claire Point, Delaware and co live with humans during summer months. They don't reveal themselves to humans even though they protect them. Liam McCathal is a member of the clan's kill team and is called home after his last kill of child molesters When Mai comes into his shop, he feels a bond with her. Then when her uncle is killed and her and her father are threatened, Liam tries to find out who is threating them. The sparks fly between them, even though it isn't allowed. I didn't expect the book end the way it did. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

It was a satisfactory read. The end was very abrupt and a total character 180. I am still here asking the same question why? why? why did it have to end that way?
